March 2013 update

Works to remove the temporary bridges over the culvert were carried out successfully and we wish to thank the residents of Bray for their co operation and understanding during the works. Works to complete the final surfacing will take place in the coming weeks. Please check the website regularly for updates

We are currently Working on the Culvert at Bray Bridge, surface buildup to give required flood protection level on “the Slang” , flood protection works to the rear of Coburg, flood defence wall along Peoples Park.  Construction of flood defence wall Area 1 Bray Golf Course.

A temporary bridge access has been installed across to "the Slang" to allow works traffic to access this area in a way that minimizes direct interaction with the river and plant.

Key construction milestones include:

  • ·         Final Design of flood relief works – ongoing – basic design complete, with detailed design refinements being carried out
  • ·         Driving of piles for culvert at Bray Bridge – Complete
  • ·         Archaeological investigations at culvert at Bray Bridge – Complete
  • ·         Flood Defence Wall Along Peoples Park–  Beginning End Oct 2012, until Christmas 2012 - section complete
  • ·         In River works from N11 towards the Slang area ( Area 5 ) - 95% complete  - balance of work to be completed May 2013
  • ·         Drainage works on South bank of river opposite peoples park Ongoing
  • ·         Bray Bridge to West End of Peoples Park/ Coburg Estate Area ongoing until July 2013
  • ·         Golf Course between Bray Bridge and DART bridge March 2013 - July 2013
  • ·         Harbour Bridge (DART Bridge) to Bray Bridge July 2013 to October 2013

These programme dates are subject to change and are our current "best estimate" of works durations

Overall works and river bed works will respect the requirements of river access exclusion periods and those of other applicable authorities.

We assure you of our best efforts to meet these dates, but as you can understand, weather and ground conditions will have a major bearing on the works
