Welcome To Our Website
April 2013
Works to remove the temporary bridges over the culvert were carried out successfully and we wish to thank the residents of Bray for their co operation and understanding during the works. Temporary resurfacing works are currently taking place on the Main Street/Lower Dargle Road junction with a view to reopening the Lower Dargle Road shortly. The flood defence wall in area 1 is progressing well. The in-river works will be resuming from the start of May. The works will commence at the slang and work towards Peoples Park. Piling rigs will be arriving on site in the coming weeks to start work in Area 1 in the vicinity of the bridge. Please check the website regularly for updates.
You can see the progress for yourself from the temporary pedestrian bridge over the culvert immediately to the south of Bray Bridge. The majority of the flood defence wall along the peoples park has been completed, and we have been able to retain the mature trees to the rear of the football pitches. Further flood defence wall works will be carried out on the eastern end of the Peoples Park in the coming weeks

The project was born of a need to address the negative impact of high water levels and flooding of the River Dargle on local residents, businesses and commuters. For many years the River Dargle has been subject to research assessing the best way to address the impacts and has culminated in this project. The project aims to alleviate these impacts through river widening, river bank stabilisation and channel management works. The works are being carried out for the OPW and Bray Town Council , administered by Halcrow Barry with design and construction by OCSC and SIAC Construction Ltd.
We look forward to working with you and the wider community in delivering this neccessary piece of infrastructure
